SUMMARY:SIA Saskatoon Branch Event: Tour of the Agbio Phytotron Facilities
DESCRIPTION:Join the SIA Saskatoon Branch on May 15\, 2025\, at 3:30 pm for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Controlled Environment Facility (Phytotron) at the USask College of Agriculture and Bioresources.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nManager of the facility\, Adam Harrison\, will provide an introduction of the facility. Following this introduction Alejandra Oviedo-Ludena and her colleagues will show us examples of their research\, including work on Pasmo in flax\, resistance to strip rust with speed breeding\, and determining resistance in cereals to Fusarium Head Blight. \nWhen: May 15\, 2025 \nTime: 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm \nCost: No Charge \nRegistration deadline is May 13\, 2025 \nCapacity is 15 \nIf you are coming to the event from and you have been exposed to any field crops\, we kindly ask that you bring a change of clothes or clean lab coat for biosecurity purposes. \nThis activity counts as a Branch Activity for Articling Milestones and as CPD. \n\n  \n\n\n\n\nRegistration:
