SUMMARY:SIA Saskatoon Branch - Invasive Species Management - Baby's Breath Removal
DESCRIPTION:The SIA Saskatoon Branch is proud to partner with the Meewasin Valley Authority to bring you this exciting CPD opportunity.  Join them on Wednesday\, July 16\, 2025\, at 4:30 pm\, at Crocus Prairie. \nBaby’s-breath is an invasive species that thrives in basic soil and full sunlight. Although it is a beautiful flower often used in decorative arrangements\, once it invades land\, it reduces native grasses and forage for wildlife. When the seeds mature\, the plant breaks off and rolls like a tumbleweed\, spreading thousands of seeds over long distances. \nWe will supply shovels to help dig out the roots\, which is important to do as deeply as possible to prevent Baby’s-breath from returning. Our efforts will focus on removing this invasive plant and helping to restore native vegetation in the area. \nJoin Meewasin and work alongside their resource management team\, who will share fascinating facts about the region. \nEvent Registration \nThis activity counts as a branch event for articling milestones and as CPD.
