SUMMARY:Mentorship Industry Program Virtual Workshop with Peter Chapman\, SKUFood
DESCRIPTION:Retail-Ready | Topic: Channel Partners | Online Webinar \n10:00am – 12:00pm | Via Zoom \nWhat to expect? This Session is a  2 hour virtual-workshop as an  immersive learning experience\, with a deep dive into the topic of  Channel Partners. It is guided by retail industry expert\,  Peter Chapman of  SKUFood. As part of the SKUFood C.A.R.T. process\, this is meant to develop skills for  food and beverage entrepreneurs. \nIt will cover how to find  channel partners\, what they cost and how to integrate them into your team. It is not always realistic for producers and  processors to do everything. We will also explore the requirements from the customer’s perspective and the channel partners they could work with such as brokers\, distributors\, and retail coverage. These are costs to do business\, but getting on the shelf is only worth it when they have the team in place to get the products into the shopping cart. \nWho is this for? It is intended for companies that have products in the market\, have market experience\, but want to gain new skills and understanding so they can grow their product sales and business to new levels of success and profit. \nThis session is being offered through  Prairie Food Link ‘s mentorship program\,  Innovation Table\, a new collaboration with the  Raj Manek Mentorship Program \, who provides one-on-one mentor matching and basics of business programing. \nInnovation Table is built on a simple idea – when people gather to share knowledge\, experience\, and curiosity\, innovation follows. *Protégés accepted into the mentorship program will have first access rights to the workshop. Registration is open to all Prairie Food Link members who are food\, beverage and/or ingredient entrepreneurs.   \nVirtual Tickets $10+tax \n*Are you an approved  Innovation Table mentorship program protégé? \nPlease contact Monica Pollard for a promo code \nREGISTER

SUMMARY:SIA Saskatoon Branch Event partner with the Meewasin Valley Authority
DESCRIPTION:The SIA Saskatoon Branch is pleased to partner with the Meewasin Valley Authority again this year\, events qualify as branch activities for Articling Milestones. \n Activity Date: Wednesday May 27\, 2026 \nArbor Day Tree Wrapping @ Diefenbaker Park (4:30 – 6:30 PM) \nMeeting @ Diefenbaker Park  \nMeeting Point \nMeet Katie\, our Volunteer Coordinator\, at Diefenbaker Park Parking Lot. Here’s a map of our meeting point. \nAbout this event \nWe’re continuing our work wrapping special trees along the trail to protect them from those busy beavers! Wrapping the trunks of trees with fencing not only protects the trees from chewing\, but also modifies the habitat by decreasing the beaver food supply. This is an easy way to protect selected trees without destroying Saskatoon’s wetland ecosystem. \nTo ensure you have a great experience\, there are a few things we’d like you to know: \nYou must be registered to attend this event register here Put SIA in the note section to ensure your registration can be verified for the articling milestone. \n\nWe will begin at 4:30 PM. and end at 6:30 PM. If you’ll be late\, no worries! Just let us know! Even if you wrapped 1 tree\, it will make a difference!\nUpon arrival check in with Meewasin’s Volunteer Coordinator\, Katie.\nThis is an outdoor experience – Please dress for the weather and come prepared to be hiking outdoors. Beaver wire is prone to catching on clothes so wear clothing that won’t catch on the little prongs. Things like a hat\, sweater\, windbreaker\, sunscreen\, and proper footwear will also make your experience more enjoyable. Long pants and covered ankles are a good idea in the long grass.\nBring a full reusable water bottle to carry with you\, there is no potable water at this event and hydration is key. Please note there are NO washroom facilities available on-site.\n\nVolunteer Requirements \nAll volunteers\, ages 8 and up\, both new and experienced\, are encouraged to attend\, no skills set required. We will be using  a wire mesh to wrap the trees\, and metal stakes to hold them in place – Meewasin will provide the work gloves\, protective eye-wear and other equipment but feel free to bring your own tools like pliers\, and mallets. \nREGISTER HERE
