SUMMARY:SIA Saskatoon Branch - Invasive species removal (Baby's Breath)
DESCRIPTION:SIA Saskatoon Branch is happy to partner with Meewasin Valley Authority for an Invasive species removal activity on Thursday\, August 1 \,2024\, at 5:00 pm. \nBaby’s-breath is an invasive species that thrives in basic soil and full sunlight. A beautiful flower that is often used in decorative arrangements. Once Baby’s-breath has invaded your land it reduces native grasses and forages for wildlife. Once the seed of the Baby’s-breath starts to mature the plant breaks off and rolls like tumbleweed over long distances and can spread thousands of seeds per plant.  This volunteer event is special because you get to work alongside our resource management team\, with 20+ years’ experience working in the valley. They’ll share a ton of incredibly true facts about the area we live in while exploring one of our favorite spots on the river. \nDate: Thursday\, August 1\, 2024 \nTime: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm \nCost: Free \nRegister here \nLocation: Meeting point at Crocus Prairie. \nThis activity qualifies as branch activities for articling agrologists and as CPD
