Fraser Herbarium contains over 200\,000 vascular plant specimens\, including unique\, rare\, and threatened plant species of Saskatchewan\, and is one of the largest herbaria of vascular plants in western Canada. The primary goals of the herbarium include the development and preservation plant specimens and associated data within the collection according to international standards\, and to promote the conservation of Saskatchewan’s natural heritage. The herbarium also supports University of Saskatchewan faculty and graduate students in research and teaching activities in traditional and molecular systematics\, crop science\, and community service within and outside the province. The collection includes 48 type specimens\, including two type specimens of lichens and 46 type specimens of vascular plants.
