Working together to provide essential services to communities across Western Canada, we are hiring a Ruminant Sales Specialist on a permanent basis at our Feed Plant in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

What you’ll do:

• You will be responsible for the sale of Ruminant feeds and maximizing customer profitability as well as investigating and resolving any production or quality concerns. Must provide technical support in the area of Ruminant nutrition, management practices and have the ability to assess herd health. Must remain current with industry trends and latest research findings. Will provide training and technical support to the Feed Team Advisors and work directly with retails to support producer customer needs for bulk feed. Approximate annual travel is 70% with approximately 4-5 nights away per month.
• You will call on livestock producers and retail customers in sales territory to promote and sell manufactured bulk feed in accordance with the sales budget. Technical expertise must be provided to the customer during each sales call to deliver value. There will be a combination of cold calls as well as the maintenance of existing customers. Advise producers on farm, regarding Ruminant nutrition and production management practices. Producers may be customers of the local Retail, so concerns must be communicated. You will advise producers by imparting knowledge of key production parameters such as, Feed Conversion, Average Daily Gain, Calving interval, Days in Milk, and other production concerns.
• You will be responsible to train and mentor the Feed Team Advisors as well as producers on all aspects of ruminant production. Provide guidance to the Livestock and Farm Hardware Category Manager on ruminant production and practices to support seasonal programs and advertising. Provide training session’s specific to ruminant management practices at sales meetings, key retail producer meetings and ruminant producer seminars. Liaise with government, university, and industry personnel with regard to ruminant nutrition, production and related issues.
• Customer service will be key in providing support to resolve customer complaints and relationship issues between producers, retails, and FCL. This role is responsible for investigating and resolving any issues on farm with the expectation to take a leadership role in complaint investigation.

Who you are:

• You are looking for a career in Sales & Marketing.
• You have a Bachelor’s Degree. A Master of Science (M.Sc) in Ruminant Nutrition is an asset.
• You have a minimum of 6-9 years of relevant progressively responsible experience in Ruminant production management practices and nutrition with sales experience (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
• Applicants must be registered or need to become registered with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists as defined by 
  The Agrologists Act
