Job Duties:

• Coordinate field activities including seeding, treatment application, plot maintenance, data collection, harvest, sample processing, etc.
• Act as on-station agronomist, for scouting, diagnosing and applying treatments.
• Operate and maintain equipment including seeder, sprayer, tractor, mower, combine etc.
• Assist in record keeping of all field and financial activities.
• Develop technology transfer material for presentations, print, and web extension activities.
• Coordinate data analyses and report delivery in the winter months.
• Act as a liaison between NARF Board of Directors and AAFC Management.
• Work with other Agri-ARM sites and Producer groups to develop, lead, and deliver projects.

Job Qualifications:

• The candidate will ideally have a Masters of Science and work experience in the agricultural industry.
• The candidate must also be registered or need to become registered with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists as defined by The Agrologists Act.
• He/she must demonstrate ability in Microsoft Word@, Excel@ and PowerPoint@, ability to work independently, strong leadership skills, ability to work in a team environment, time management skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience in field research with ability to operate small plot equipment and a valid driver’s license is a requirement.
• Knowledge and experience in data management, statistical analyses, report writing, and presentation delivery is required.
• ​The candidate must be a permanent resident of Canada.
• The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of farming practices in the prairie region and have well developed communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with the research community as well as producers.
• Pesticide Applicators license is an asset.

Salary and working conditions: The starting salary will be commensurate with level of education and experience.
