News: MLA Kaeding Appointed Legislative Secretary to Minister of Agriculture

In the cabinet announcement made last week by Premier Brad Wall, MLA for Melville-Saltcoats, Warren Kaeding, PAg was appointed as Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture (Irrigation Expansion).  He will be working with the Minister of Agriculture, Lyle Stewart, in this new role.  

Kaeding was also appointed to the Crown Investment Corporation cabinet committee and to the Legislation and Regulation Review Committee (LRRC).  He continues to sit on the Legislative Standing Committee on Crowns. 

Wall made several significant changes to his cabinet in the shuffle.

Five MLA’s are entering cabinet, including four who become ministers for the first time:

Veteran MLA and minister Don Morgan becomes Saskatchewan’s new Deputy Premier. Morgan will continue to serve as Minister of Education and Minister of Labour.

Four other ministers will retain their current cabinet responsibilities. They are:

The size of cabinet has been reduced by one minister to 17, including the Premier.  Wall noted that represents about a five percent reduction in the size of cabinet and will save taxpayers about $450,000 a year.
