SIA Saskatoon Branch & Meewasin Valley Invasive Species Removal

The SIA Saskatoon Branch is happy to partner with Meewasin Valley for an Invasive Species (European Buckthorn) Removal activity.
About this event: European Buckthorn is an aggressive invasive shrub species with large and brittle thorns. This needs to be removed to increase the biodiversity of existing native grasslands. Great care must be taken to remove this species with the utilization of pruning loppers and handsaws. Long pants covering your ankles is necessary for this activity, as well as the avoidance of any clothes that can get caught on thorns easily (we recommend jeans, nylon and synthetic fabrics).
