The National Farm Leadership Program (NFLP) is a data driven, self directed personal/professional development program where participants from across Canada engage in an 11-month process that takes a deep dive into the behaviors behind their success, and behind their difficulties. NFLP #9 equips participants to develop lasting capabilities that are both authentic and necessary to achieve the outcomes they want for themselves and their teams. Kelly is a Certified Executive Coach and holds MA in Leadership from Royal Roads University. Kelly has been formally coaching in the ag space since 2017 through his company LeaderShift. Initially working with farm families – primarily parents, next gens and their siblings, which expanded to include cohort-based coaching through the National Farm Leadership Program (NFLP). The success of the NFLP branched Kelly’s client base to include agribusiness managers of both private and multinational firms.

Kelly’s primary interest is in equipping and supporting people to adapt to their changing environment, roles, responsibilities, and relationships. Over time, their work becomes a catalyst for personal innovation and growth that underpins their professional success. Kelly is also a fourth-generation farmer from Manitoba and has served agriculture for over a decade, chairing provincial and federal organizations, as well as writing for Country Guide.

Executive Director

Farm Management Canada

Heather leads the team as Executive Director of Farm Management Canada and is the Canadian representative to the International Farm Management Association. Heather worked with Kelly to help shape the National Farm Leadership Program as one of the program’s pilot participants. Since then, Farm Management Canada has partnered with Kelly and his team to expand the reach and impact of the program. Heather now assists Kelly in facilitating the program. In 2022, Heather was recognized as one of Canada’s Influential Women in Canadian Agriculture. Heather has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Guelph and Master’s degree from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.
