The City of Saskatoon is partnering with the Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to host a FREE workshop on Emerald Ash Borer (EAB)
surveillance.
The workshop will consist of two parts: a hybrid classroom session (open to all) and a hands-on skill building session on prism trap
deployment and branch sampling (limited availability).
Please RSVP for the hybrid link and to reserve your spot for the in-person session:

Workshop Content
The classroom session will be available both in-person and online, covering EAB
biology, survey methodology, regulations, and more. Following this, there will be a Q&A
session to compare and discuss current surveillance strategies.
The skill building session will take place in-person and focus on best practices in prism
trap placement, including a demonstration and chance for attendees to practice
deploying their own traps. We will also demonstrate the EAB branch sampling protocol,
giving attendees a chance to familiarize themselves with the process.
Supplies
We ask that in-person attendees bring the following supplies for the skill building
session portion of the workshop. If attending as a group of 2-3, only one of each item is
required:
• Drawknife or fine-edged blade
• Work gloves and disposable gloves
• Clamp or vice (for holding a branch affixed to a table)
