The Prairie Swine Centre (PSC) is a non-profit swine research organization with the goal of increasing efficiency (economic, welfare, environmental) throughout Canada’s hog industry.

Affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan, PSC’s near-market research program focuses on nutrition, engineering, and swine behaviour. Implementing research results on farms is driven through PSC’s Knowledge Transfer program, specifically through the development of on-farm demonstrations.
Understanding the pork industry can be a bit of a mystery, as biosecurity limits the opportunity to see what happens on the farm on a daily basis.

This tour will take you through Prairie Swine Centre, examining various phases of production including biosecurity and marketing arrangements.

If you want to know more about Saskatchewan’s and Canada’s hog industry, this virtual tour provides a great opportunity to gain an understanding of the industry and see how it is integrated with other sectors of agriculture within the Province.

Note: The webinar link will be sent by email.

This virtual tour qualifies as a branch activity milestone for AAg/ATechAg and as CPD.
