Meewasin is the Managing Partner for the Canadian Prairies Prescribed Fire Exchange. Through the support of the Weston Family Foundation and an expanding network of partners across North America, the CPPFE is rapidly growing as a leading force in prescribed fire training, community capacity building, grassland restoration, and landscape stewardship.

This is a unique moment to join a fast-moving and highly collaborative conservation initiative that is helping redefine how we manage and restore prairie landscapes.

We are currently recruiting for the following positions:

Canadian Prairies Prescribed Fire Exchange (CPPFE)

Help lead one of the fastest-growing prescribed fire initiatives in Canada. This role will guide strategic growth, partnerships, operations, and long-term vision for the CPPFE across the Prairie provinces and beyond.

• Partnership & Community Engagement Coordinator
Help build relationships and strengthen collaboration with landowners, ranchers, Indigenous communities, municipalities, agencies, conservation organizations, and emerging prescribed burn associations across the Prairies.

• Training Coordinator
Play a key role in expanding prescribed fire training and mentorship opportunities across Western Canada. This position will support TREX events, field operations, logistics, equipment management, and the continued growth of prescribed fire capacity.

Meewasin Valley Authority
